Angel
Stadium
(formerly
Edison Field of Anaheim, Anaheim Stadium)
A view from behind
the plate at the then named Anaheim Stadium. One of the perks
of not drawing well, is that you can walk up to the ticket window
right before game time, and purchase a ticket to a great seat.
That's just what we did in September of '96. It was one of the
last games prior to the removal of all those seats enclosing the
playing field.
One of the more
recognizable feature's of old Anaheim Stadium is the haloed scoreboard.
Originally situated right behind the left field fence in the original
layout of the stadium, it was relegated to parking lot attendant
duty when the playing field was enclosed to add additional seats
for the "St. Louis" Rams.
The postcard
image below shows the original design of the Big A.
Below is an image of the old
drab main gate to the stadium.
