Forbes
Field
Part of the outfield
wall of Forbes Field still stands in its original location, now
part of the campus of the University of Pittsburgh. the following
image was taken 31 years, to the day, of the last game at Forbes.
Even after all
these years, there are still traces of the original green paint
still clinging on the concrete columns between each brick section
of the wall.
An aerial view
of the park filled to capacity. The section of the outfield wall
that is still standing is that piece that wraps around the center
field flagpole, (which also remains in it's original location).
You can also note that the fans in the upper section of the left
field pavilion had their view of the plate obstructed by the original
stands past third base.
An old postcard
from the 1960's looking into the stands from behind the late,
great Roberto Clemente.
Nothing much
to add, as the marker is self explanatory.
