Baseball Fields of Summer

The 2008 regular season is over. We have added a page of the final game at Yankee Stadium. We will be adding one for Shea Stadium as well in the coming days. You can view the 7th Inning Stretch (as well as Cotton Eye Joe, YMCA and Lazy Mary) videos taken at those games at Shea and Yankee Stadiums by visiting our You Tube page: http://www.youtube.com/ebaseballparks. The staff has also been feverishly working at updating the Ballpark Leaders pages. We have already commenced updates for the 2008 season. Single season and all time batting and pitching leaders for over 50 ballparks is included. In 2008 we visited the former site of Metropolitan Stadium, as well as the Metrodome. Dodger Stadium and Petco Park have been visited and we are now reviewing the images to include in the site in the near future. One of the main goals of this site is to serve as a free reference tool to fans everywhere by preserving moments and compiling data that will kindle memories, spark discussions, or settle debates.

Two of our proudest features are the various 7th Inning Stretch pages. We have captured renditions of the song, at various ballparks, including the final ones at some, which can not be currently found on any other site on the internet. As numbers have always been around the game, the statistical information that is contained in the Ballpark Leaders details single season and all time leaders in many ballparks in common pitching and batting categories. We are also in the process of adding large panoramic images of the ballparks to the site. Look for them at the bottom of each ballpark page. The images will open into new windows. Other highlights include The Program Cover Gallery page which features images of actual game programs from significant dates in ballpark histories. We have over 60 covers featured, including those from Shea and Yankee Stadiums. Also, the Uniform Patches collection has been updated with 35 official MLB patches worn specifically to honor ballparks. At this point, there are close to 500 images incorporated into the site. As before, the site is best viewed with a screen setting of 1024 x 768, and millions of colors. Some of the pages are intense in their use of multiple images, so you may experience occasional delays or long loading times (particularly for the mpeg files). We hope you enjoy the ebaseballparks.com experience, and we look forward to opening up our little shop which will feature general baseball and specific ballpark related articles. We are adding a blog section to opine on some of our thoughts. Please direct any comments or questions to the groundskeeper@ebaseballparks.com. Enjoy.

"As a hitter it was hard, it changed my style. I used to hit more home runs early, but this stadium took that notion away, I became more of a slap hitter in this park because the ballpark sort of dictated it."
