Huntington
Avenue Grounds
The Americans
(Red Sox) played the very first World Series game at the Huntington
Avenue Grounds. There is also a statue of Cy Young on the campus
of Northeastern University in the approximate location of the
pitchers mound.
Here is
an old photograph of Huntington Avenue Grounds. Huntington Avenue
is in the lower foreground, running by the outfield fence. The
arrow points to the approximate location of the plaque in the
first image. Note that there were advertisements on both sides
of the fences.

A year
after the image of the plaque above, we gaze into the eyes of
Cy Young as he is getting the sign for the next pitch.
The inscription
on the base of the statue.
